|
Born in Coimbra, Portugal, in 1989.
Pedro Sousa Loureiro aka Feathering is a portuguese interdisciplinary artist whose work explores the boundaries between theatre, cinema, performance, and radio. Over the years, he focused on themes such as nonlinear dramaturgy, alter-egos, gender identity, social classes and hierarchies, and social borders. He creates texts both independently and in co-authorship or partnership, valuing collaborative efforts with performers, non-performers, and musicians. His work addresses subjects such as the relationship between love and authority, which he expresses through letters, drawings, video installations, and performances. Their creations are often influenced by the pop/electro music scene, contrasted with the lyrical world of opera. A self-described nomadic artist, Pedro Sousa Loureiro/Feathering has taken part in numerous international collaborative residencies and formed partnerships with cultural organizations and institutions across Armenia, France, Belgium, and Portugal. Public space work is central to his artistic journey, where he explores and push the boundaries of the performer’s impact in these spaces.
